Boosting for building dams vs. preventing Ahwazi farmers from forming

According to trusted source within Al-Ahwaz stated that Khuzestan Water and Power Authority Company has issued strict warning to all formers in Khalafyeh (Ramshir) city from forming a few days ago. 

This notice comes to all farmers who are farming on both sides of Jarrahi River and preparing themselves for the actual planting season for the autumn and winter, which includes wheat and barley.

According to document received by Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights (ACHR) on 01-MAY 2015, the same company prevent the Ahwazi farmers who are farming near to Karkheh River and basin.

The authorities also justified the decision for lack of water behind the Karkheh dam and the needs of people for drinking water but they do not mentioned their vicious plans for building mass dams on Ahwazi rivers were lead to this disastrous situation.

The construction of dams rapidly and random, led to widespread drought in the Ahwazi rivers, where Al-Ahwaz region has ample water sources, due to the existence of a permanent flowing rivers, such as the Karun and Karkheh, and Dez Rivers. However, the water level of these rivers fallen since 2005, where the water level fell by 65% in Dez River, and 45% in Karoon River 50% in Karkheh River, and this is dangerous index because the farmers in this case can not irrigate their land easily!

Premeditated chlorine gas attack was launched against Ahwazi civilians

Iranian authorities have failed to implement an ethnic cleansing operationin Al-Ahwaz, which was nearly claiming the lives of thousands of innocent people who were secure in their homes in Qalaat Chanan southeast of the capital of Al-Ahwaz in the evening of Saturday 12-September 2015.

The failure came after thousands of the region's population rushed to the streets as a result of inhalation of chlorine toxic gas swept through the highly populated area of Qalaat Chanan. 

The Iranian pro-media announced that the gas spread due to opening a bottle containing chlorine gas by an addicted in the Qalaat Chanan’s neighborhood. In contrast, residents of the area denied this news through interviews they had with the media. 

However, the story entirely different from what the resident has witnesses where they said that suspected were more than one person and wearing masks during the 100 Kilograms bottle weight of chlorine gas discharge, and then fled from the scene and police and security forces came to the scene with a delay that exceeded four hours. 

The Iranian media has published conflicting statistics about the number of victims of inhaling chlorine gas, where “asre-ma” website has published an estimated proportion of infected people that are more than six hundred and majority of those affected and poisoned people were transferred to nearby hospital after four hours delay for the distance that do not exceed 12 Kilo Meter between the place of incident and ambulance place.

Iranian occupier regime increases it repression against Ahwazi street vendor

After the self-immolation of Younes Asakereh, the Ahwazi Arab

fruit seller whose fruit stall was confiscated by the security forces and the municipal officials which led him to set himself on fire in protest at the confiscation of his fruit stall in Mohamerah, the repression campaign against Ahwazi street vendor has extended to other Ahwazi cities as just few day ago the police forces and municipal officials attacked an Ahwazi Arab vendor in Mahshor city and beaten and assaulted him brutally. 

The Ahwazi Arab human rights activists have reported that in the past few days, the Iranian security forces have severely attacked Ahwazi Arab street hawkers in streets of Mahshor city and completely confiscated their possessions and obliged many of them to pay financial fines.

The reports added that the security forces have arbitrarily bulldozed and removed the goods of the Ahwazi Arab men and women vendors and peddlers who wish to sell food, T-shirts, and other goods unless most of them obtain legal permits for vending in the streets in reasonable fashion.

Ahwazi Arab’s arrest intensifies in April

Iranian security forces raided houses in the Al-Thoura district, in the capital city of Ahwaz, in the early hours of Wednesday morning the eighth of April 2015.
According to reports from Ahwazi activists received by Ahwazi Centre for Human Right (ACHR), Iranian security forces launched a wide arbitrary raids in the Al-Thoura district without previous warning where many of the residents of the Al-Thoura district been arrest and ACHR have received the following names:

Also according to trusted sources that quoted to ACHR about the mass arrests and raids carried out by the Iranian intelligence apparatus together with a large force of the Revolutionary Guards, on Monday, April 6, 2015 in the Malashiya district in the capital city of Ahwaz. Persian intelligence service has arrested a number of Ahwazis and transferred to unknown locations.

Thousands of Ahwazi masses participate in Yonis' funeral

On Monday 23 March 2015, thousands of Ahwazis has gathered in Mohammareh city to mourn Yonis Asakereh (Ahwazi young fruit seller) who died on Sunday 22-03-2015 after immolating himself in protest against the cruel acts of Iranian authorities who confiscated his small kiosk cutting off the only source of income of his family.

The Ahwazi mourners honoured Yonis’ self-sacrifice and expressed their sincere sympathy to the grieved Family of Yonis, who departed his wife and two children sacrificing himself for the oppressed voice of Ahwazis.

World Water Day: Nearly 7 million Ahwazi people still without adequate drinking water

While the world is celebrating World Water Day (22 March), Ahwazi Arabs are struggling to find safe drinking water. One of the most serious risks threatening the Ahwazis is the slow death of the rivers particularly Karoon, Karkheh and Dez as the dryness of these Rivers has led to drought and desertification of lands.  Such drought is having direct damaging impact on the vast marshlands in Al-Ahwaz such as the Hor Althim, Hor Alhoweizeh, Hor Falahiyeh and Hor minaw.

Ahwaz witness a disastrous dust phenomena for more than half of the year and in most days, the amount of dust particles in the air has reached to dangerous levels and exceeds to more than 70 times than health standard limit and has caused the people in Al-Ahwaz to breath dust instead of air. The density of dust in most days was so severe in which it disabled air pollution measuring devices. Reports and satellite pictures proved that the origin of dust is internal, and there is no relation to other neighbourhood countries as Iranian regime claims.

In rare cases, the Persian section of BBC has broadcast news about Ahwaz, either news been distorted or using offensive words such as "Arabic speaker", that is insulted Ahwazi Arab nation.

Ahwazi self-immolated has died in Motahari hospital in Tehran

Younes Asakereh, a 32-year-old street vender and father of two

children has died today earlier morning subsequent to setting himself on fire on March 13,2015 after numerous attacks by the Iranian repressive regime's security forces who prevented him from earning a living.

According to Ahwazi activist to send Younis Asakreh to Tehran for treatment, the Iranian airline had demands 50 million Rials (about 2000 Dollar) from his family.

Asakreh’s family due to severe economic situation and the inability to pay for the plane were forced to transfer Younis who suffered from 90% burns by ambulance to Tehran. Distance between Ahwaz capital and Tehran is about 900 KM and the Iranian ambulances are not up-to-date to take care of the patient completely where this time and distance has worsen the patient health.

Iranian revolutionary court demands expensive document for the release of Ahwazi prisoner

Iranian revolutionary Court asked expensive document for the release of Ahwazi prisoners and human rights activists confirms the prisoner family’s inability to provide it.

According to trusted sources that are close to prisoner’s family stated that the judge of Division 12 of the revolutionary court in the capital city of Ahwaz asked the family of the prisoner Ammar Katan Abayat, expensive financial document until he agreed to release him temporary.

Human rights activists said that the prisoner family due to their miserable economic circumstances has been unable to provide a document imposed by the investigating judge to release temporary for the prisoner.

Ammar Katan Abayat age 22 was arrested on Friday morning 12-December-2014 in Alallwa district, in Hamidieh city.

Meanwhile an Ahwazi Sunni preacher by the name of Qassem Abiat (picture) was arrested in early days of February 15 by Iranian authorities on charges of spreading what they called Salafi and Wahhabi beliefs in Ahwaz.

The threat of on-going Persian settlement policies in Al-Ahwaz

Throughout human history, authoritarian regimes have exercised numerous policies to influence and pressure peoples whose homelands are under the grip of domination and occupation. Occupation policies include construction of settlements and relocation of settlers to change demographics to favour their colonial aspirations.  This is one of many ways used gradually to control the indigenous population living under colonial occupation.

History is full of examples illustrating the process of colonialism and occupation, but none more clearly than the example of the brutal Israeli colonization and occupation of Palestine.
